Original Work

Laura-Jayne writes and performs original material, influenced by artists such as Bjork, Imogen Heap, Massive Attack, Deftones and Sia. She has a truly eclectic mix of styles, with haunting melodies and experimental vocal techniques. Her innovative style of live looping, building layers of vocal harmony, guitar and glockenspiel amongst other instruments, with a sound that equates to Ethereal Dubstep has captivated audiences across the UK and Ireland.

Laura-Jayne’s original works have won her numerous song-writing competitions, such as the Bright Young Things showcase in Leeds and the Avalon Acoustic Stage Singer/Songwriter of the Year Award. In addition, her work has been reviewed in various publications…

As mentioned above, Laura-Jayne composed and recorded for the London National Film & Television School. One of the tracks she performed was her own take on rap legend Coolio’s ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’, which she performed using a loop station.

In April 2014, her cover was posted by Coolio himself on his Facebook and Twitter under a section lovingly titled #CoolioCover!
